Amity University, the leading private university of India, and BSI Management Systems India have joined forces to train students in order to provide the Indian industry with professionals who are ‘industry ready’.
Amity University is part of a large group of educational institutions in India with over 40,000 students and 72 institutions spread over 22 campuses. Amity is the first and largest private university in India and the No.1 ranked private B-School in India.
BSI and Amity University recognized that there was a skills and competencies gap between what the industry required and what the students graduating in engineering and business had acquired. To solve this issue, BSI is now running a training programme for the students which, on completion, allows the students to call themselves a “Certified Management System Professional”.
In undertaking this class-room and tutorial-based training it’s a win-win scenario for the industry, the students, and BSI; the industry is provided with students who have the right skill-set, the students are able to differentiate themselves from the competition as well as being able to start a successful career, and BSI’s message of being one of the world’s leading provider of management systems certification and training is instilled in the graduating students’ mindset.
BSI India also conducted a pilot course on Information Security Management earlier this year for a batch of 25 students at the same university. The feedback was extremely positive and as a result an MoU was signed in June, and subsequently students were provided with career advice sessions by top management of BSI India.
It is hoped that the initial enrollment of 285 students across four different courses will grow to some 2,000 students at the start of the next semester in January 2008.
