Course Description:
BSI’s “Introduction to Energy Management Systems” course provides a general understanding of the concepts of an energy management system (EnMS). Based on EN 16001:2009, the course also provides description of the international standard ISO 50001 and its relationship to current standards around the world. Participants will learn how an effective EnMS can help their organization improve energy efficiency, reduce costs, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
An experienced BSI instructor will guide students through the course, while students engage in discussions and participate in exercises based around the concepts of an energy management system.

- Describe the principles of an energy management system
- Explain the concepts of energy efficiency and energy performance
- Realize the benefits of systematic energy management across your organization
- Describe the requirements of an EnMS based on ISO 50001
