Course Description
BSI’s “Implementing a Quality Management System” course introduces the concepts needed to understand, develop, and implement a quality management system. This course covers the ISO 9000 family of standards, including ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9000:2005, and ISO 9004:2000. Experienced instructors explain how to integrate the family of standards during system implementation, prepare for audits, and achieve ISO 9001:2008 registration. Exercises prepare students to identify key requirements, create documentation, develop project plans, and prepare an implementation project plan.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the process approach, the 8 quality management principles, and apply them to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008
- Define the scope of a quality management system.
- Explain the structure of ISO 9001:2008 and how it applies to the organization.
- Produce a plan for implementation.
- Identify and justify the resources required for implementation.
- Facilitate development of processes, policies, objectives, documentation and measurement techniques.

Prerequisite:
This is an introductory course designed for individuals with little or no previous knowledge of implementing a quality management system. The basics of ISO 9001:2008 will be covered in full detail.
